“Hauss”

This painting was commissioned by a great couple I met through a coworker. They wanted a picture of their dog for their daughter as a coming home gift. I took this as another learning opportunity and focused on a more open style of painting which was necessitated by the fact that I had a small photo to work with where lighting and positioning of the dog was not particularly the best. I studied several different photos and then painted a composite that I thought best represented this pooch. I was extremely pleased with how it turned out, especially considering that it was not my usual dense detailed style.
